Identification tags for traceability applications
There are two tag solutions we provide for traceability applications in a range of different environments:
- Barcoded tags and scanners
- RFID tags that can be detected automatically by our hand-held readers using the latest state-of-the-art scanning systems.
Both can record important information and improve the accuracy of computerised data, increasing efficiency and reducing labour input. We are happy to discuss your requirements so that we can recommend a solution for you.
Traceability at work in the Fire and Rescue Service
Traceability is a key requirement where equipment assigned to specific engines needs to be returned after incidents to the same vehicle.
Where more than one appliance attends, the equipment (particularly hoses) often ends up on different appliances at the end of the incident. As each appliance must have equipment it can prove fit for use, with an associated audit trail, it is essential that all equipment be clearly identified.
At Ritchey ID, we are partners of Redkite Systems. Most Fire and Rescue Services use a system called the Redkite Equipment Management System (EMS) that includes our tags and that we supply. This allows the crew to inspect the equipment, pass it fit for use and/or if it is not fit for use, move it to maintenance and remove it from the run until it is repaired and returned to operational use.
